HOW TO GET TO GIBRALTAR

Getting to Gibraltar for the Netball World Youth Cup 2025

Gibraltar is easily accessible, with multiple travel options for everyone attending the Netball World Youth Cup 2025.

By Air

Gibraltar International Airport has direct flights from major UK cities, including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Luton, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester. The airport is conveniently located just minutes from the city center and event venues. Alternatively, Málaga Airport (Spain) offers a wider range of international flights and is a two-hour drive from Gibraltar, with car hire, taxis, and direct bus connections available.

By road

For those traveling from Spain, Gibraltar is easily accessible by car or public transport. The main route is via the A-7 highway (Autovía del Mediterráneo), taking Exit 119 toward La Línea de la Concepción, the Spanish town bordering Gibraltar. From La Línea, visitors can walk across the border, where passport checks are required. Those driving into Gibraltar should note that parking is limited, and traffic will be difficult to manage during this time, so using public transport or parking in La Línea and crossing on foot is recommended. Please ensure that you have your passport and any other necessary travel documentation to be allowed entry into Gibraltar and out to Spain thereafter.

Local Transportation

Once in Gibraltar, getting around is simple:

An efficient bus network serves key locations, including the airport, border, city center, and event venues such as Tercentenary Sports Hall and Europa Point Sports Complex. Download the bus tracker app to stay organised with your time.

Rental e-bikes and scooters provide a convenient way to explore Gibraltar. Extra caution is advised if you choose to take these methods of transport. Make sure you are safe and always adhere to local road traffic rules.

The good thing about Gibraltar is that you are never too far away from anything. Many areas, including the main event venues, are within walking distance from hotels and attractions. For more information on what you can do during your time in Gibraltar click here.
