Meet Our NWYC2025 Mascot:

The Barbary Partridge

Netball World Youth Cup 2025 (NWYC2025) has today launched its official mascot, giving the netball family the opportunity to name her.
The NWYC2025 mascot is a proud Barbary Partridge, a bird with a rich history and a strong connection to Gibraltar. She’s not just any partridge. She’s a symbol of resilience, spirit, and the power of community!

The Barbary Partridge is Gibraltar’s only self-sustaining wild population of this North African bird. Known for her speed, agility, and loyalty to her flock, this bird has been living in the Upper Rock and Catalan Bay areas for centuries. Although she’s a bit shy, when she’s in her element,

she’s bold and confident.

Why is she special?

• She can only be found only here in mainland Europe.
• She’s adapted to life in rocky, scrubby hillsides – a true Gibraltarian survivor.
• Her beautiful brown crown and chestnut markings make her stand out.
• She’s determined, fast on her feet, and never gives up! The perfect symbol for youth netballers!

Her Personality:

Playful & Curious: Always exploring her surroundings.
Fast & Resilient: Quick to run but always finds her way back.
• Proud & Protective: She’s a team player, just like our netball girls, always looking out for her friends.
A True Local: She’s Gibraltar’s own and ready to welcome the world to her home.

A Chance to Name Her!

Now it’s over to you – we’re launching a competition to give our mascot her official name!

Be creative. Think of names that reflect her personality, her role as a host, and Gibraltar’s unique environment.
